Kalamalka Student Registration & Transfers

Welcome to the School District! We are excited to welcome your child to our school and want to get them into class and engaged in learning as quickly as possible. We’re committed to student success, leadership excellence and community connections.

The registration period begins January 15, 2025, at 9:00 am.

Students wishing to transfer from one school in our district to another begins January 15th at 9:00 am through to February 15th at 4:00 pm.

As of January 15th, at 9:00 am walk up registration will be accepted at our School.

After February 15th, please call your catchment school directly for registration or transfer appointments.

REGISTRATION Process:

  1. Enter your primary address into our School Locator to determine your catchment school. Click Here for school locator.
  2. Contact your catchment school to complete the registration process.
  3. If Kalamalka Secondary is your catchment School please complete the School Registration form. Click Here for Kal registration package.
  4. Contact Kalamalka Secondary school to complete the process. Email kaladmissions@sd22.bc.ca  or call 250-545-1396

Documents for Registering a new student:

**A signature from both parents is required on the registration document**

  • Child’s Birth Certificate 
  • ** NEW** Parent’s Proof of Citizenship (Canadian passport, citizenship card, work visa, study permit, permanent resident card, birth certificate)
  • Child’s BC Services Card (Personal Health Number)
  • Proof of Residence, from the legal guardian that clearly identifies their name and current address: *At least two documents confirming residential address are required.

You may accept one from the left-hand column along with one from the right, or TWO from the right. 

 

Government issue ID:

 

  • BC Driver`s License
  • BC ID 
  • BC Services Card

 

Preferred proof of residence:

 

  • Property tax statement
  • Bank statement 
  • Credit card statement
  • Purchase agreement of home
  • Rental insurance 
  • Municipal utility statement
  • Gas, electric, landline or cable bill 
  • Current tax return, filed as a BC resident.

 

TRANSFER process:

New to the district transfer requests are initiated at the catchment school.

Transfer requests for current students are initiated at the current school. Transfers requested due to a move to a new catchment must be supported by proof of residence and both parent/guardian signatures.

Complete the PR 9-11-0 Student Placement 2025 (transfer form) click Here for form. Both parent/guardian signatures are required, and registration forms if you are new to the district.

 

The Vernon Secondary family of schools (VSS, Hillview, Silver Star and BX) as well as Coldstream Elementary are closed to out of catchment transfers.
